What? Aren't all superhero's pants too big at some point?

Abigail's wild ride

Abigail got to go for her first tractor ride this weekend. It will appear that she fell out of the tractor...but she didn't. Her feet pushed the trailer opened and I freaked out! Austin thought giving her a ride was hilarious.

Here they are, ready for a ride.

And here's Austin, taking his doggie for a ride

Please say a prayer

Please say a prayer for my friend Leslie and her daughter Reagan. Leslie’s husband was killed on Saturday while serving our country in Iraq. I am absolutely devastated by the news. My heart is aching for Leslie and Reagan. Leslie not only lost her husband, she lost her best friend. Please say a prayer to help them make it through this difficult time.

Grandma's here

Grandma got here on Wednesday and I think she's having lots of fun! Austin got to stay home from school with her on Thursday and Friday so they could play all day. He's done a lot of playing outside, riding his tractor, playing in the sandbox and running through the sprinkler.

Yesterday we ventured to Austin (Austin, Texas that is:)) to go to Babies R Us and do some other shopping. Abigail finally got her Bumbo seat. Today we're going to attempt to make some hair bows for Abigail. It should be interesting...

Note to self...

Start checking Austin's pockets when doing his laundry. I've come up with the following items while doing the last two loads of Austin's laundry:
  • ♥$1.74 - ($1.00 bill in one load & some change in another)

  • ♥A name tag (They write his name on masking tape and stick it to his back at school)

  • ♥A plastic frog

  • ♥A piece of gum (Found in the dryer after the clothes were dry...thankfully not getting on anything)

  • ♥A foam lion sticker, still stuck to his shirt.

  • ♥A rock from the playground

I suppose it can only get worse as he gets older. Here he is sitting in the window watching Daddy mow the yard.

Such a lady

Well...most of the time. Abigail thinks it's funny to lift her skirt! Look at those chunky legs! Her newest toy is her toes. She constantly has her fingers in her mouth too!

I've also created a blog where you can view all of our "movies" in one place. Check it out! The link can also be found under the Blogs I read and the movie section.

Up close and personal

Here's an interview with Austin. He doesn't have a very long attention span these days! It's true, the threes are more terrible than the twos!

And another movie of Abigail. She's quite the squealer these days. You'll see what I mean!

Eating cereal

Abigail got her first taste of rice cereal on Thursday night. I mixed the cereal with water and she wasn't too crazy about it. From now on I'm going to mix it with my breast milk, or at least until she gets used to it. With the combination of her shots on Monday and starting Amoxicillin she hasn't had the greatest appetite this week. I didn't give her Amoxicillin yesterday and she had a great appetite. Although she only drank three bottles at school yesterday, she drank all 3 oz in each of them. It's so heart wrenching when I look at her "daily report card" to see that she didn't drink all of the milk in her bottles and that they have dumped my breast milk down the sink. Anyways, here is a little video of her first bite and some pictures.

4 Months

Abigail is 4 months old today. When she went to the doctor yesterday and she weighed 13 pounds even. She's really grown taller, she's now 24 3/4 inches long. She once again got four immunizations which put her in a pretty crabby mood for the day. I ended up having to go get her from school because she wouldn't drink a bottle and kept crying. She just wanted her Mommy. I got there, she nursed like a champ and then we came home. She got the go ahead to start cereal so we're going to try that this week.

Austin also went to his ENT yesterday for his ear tube check up. His tubes are still in so Dr. R isn't going to do anything with them until Austin starts to have problems with them. He goes back in 3 months for his next tube check.

Early morning

The kids forgot to inform me last night that the time to get up this morning was going to be 4:45 a.m. Michael had to get up at 4:30 so I was looking forward to getting a little more sleep by myself...but that was cut short. First it was Abigail and soon followed by Austin. Who woke up dry this morning I might add! He even started going into the bathroom on his own this weekend when he had to go potty. No more asking him, he knows when he has to go. But anyways, it appears that Abigail is the only one with any sense around here this morning...

Austin on the other hand has already packed his "pack pack" (back pack) with extra clothes and is ready to hit the road. Here he is, "Ready to go to pool."

We're actually off to doctors appointments this morning. Abigail first and then Austin. I'll post later to let everyone know how they went. For now, Happy Monday!

First run through the sprinkler

Here is a video of Austin running through his sprinkler for the first time. I thought he would be scared but he loved it!

Here are some more pictures from running through the sprinkler

And here are some pictures of Abigail from yesterday. She's really getting the hang of holding toys. The picture of her smiling reminds me of a picture of Austin. I'll have to find it!

So proud

I am so proud of Austin. When I picked him up at school today he was wearing the same clothes I dropped him off in. No accidents today! Whoooo hooooooo! He even woke up from his nap dry. There's no turning back now, he's on his way to being a big boy. I was so proud of him when I saw that he had the same clothes on that my eyes welled up with tears. At that moment I realized my little boy is growing up. I can't say it enough, I am so proud of him!

Because he's doing so well with potty training he is going to start transitioning to the preschool room at school on Monday. He'll start by visiting a few hours a day and eventually will transition to all day. He's very excited about going into the "big kid" room and playing on their playground. He will also be reunited with some of his friends that have already transitioned. I can't believe we're going to have to start thinking about sending him to preschool. He's growing up way too fast...
