Speaking of sleeping...

Somebody must be going through a growth spurt. And her name is Abigail. She did a ton of sleeping this weekend. Saturday night she went to bed between 8:30 and 9:00. On Sunday morning I rudely awoke her at 10:30 am when I touched her back to make sure she was still breathing!

Last night she went to bed at 7:00 pm and didn't wake up until I went in her room this morning at 7:00 am to pick out her clothes for the day.

New sleeping arrangements

At almost 4 and a half years old, Austin has outgrown his toddler bed. Michael and I have wanted to get a new bed for a long time so we decided we would get a new bed so Austin could use ours. He got to pick out his new sheets and comforter and chose SpongeBob!

We went from a full size to a king size bed. Wow, what a difference! Of course we still need to get a few things, including a new foot board. Ours came damaged, they delivered it how it was and ordered us a new one. Once the new one comes in, they'll deliver and switch it out. We still need king size pillows and a king size quilt. I want to stay with the Americana theme in our room, but haven't been successful in finding a quilt to match.

Because we were buying a new bed, we bought the dressers and end tables to match. I'm planning on having this furniture for a long time!

Swimming class

Austin and I finished our last class of our parent & child swim class tonight. We've gone to the class every evening since Monday. Austin did a great job learning the proper techniques for swimming and even got brave enough to jump off the edge of the pool into the water. He even received a certificate of achievement! I'm so proud of him.

I can't believe his first day of school will be in less than two months. He'll be attending Pre-K all day (7:30am-2:45pm) at a school on post. I know he'll do great, but it still scares the crap out of me that he'll be going to school. How did he get this old already????

Sea World

Here are some pictures of our visit to Sea World in San Antonio. We went with my favorite girls from Texas, Les & Reagan!
Austin and I were looking at the dolphins

Look at that smile! He was watching the sharks.

I love how he stood up on the stroller to get a better look at the horse!

Checking out the water!

Abigail crashed just before the "Believe" show with Shamu. She ended up waking up just in time for the show.

Abigail in the kids water area. We got the biggest chuckle out of the kid wearing a speedo in the picture!

Austin riding the whale slide. Austin wanted to wear the life jacket...in the 2 foot pool!

I talked Austin into riding the Shamu Express (a roller coaster for kids) and the ride pictured below. I really hope Abigail is going to be a roller coaster rider, Austin wasn't too thrilled about the rides and I'll need a partner for Cedar Point!

It was a very hot and tiring day, but we had a great time!

He's in love ♥ ♥ ♥

He even wears his new goggles to bed! I went in to check on him and found him with his goggles on and the covers over his head. I couldn't help but laugh when I pulled the covers back and discovered this...

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

And of course, Happy Father's Day to my Dad and my father-in-law Bill. We couldn't have asked for two better men to be our father's and Grandpa's for our children!

Another fun Saturday

Our morning started out by stopping at Shipley Do-Nuts for a donut. Austin got a chocolate covered donut with sprinkles. Guess what he ate first?

Abigail got a pink donut with sprinkles. Guess what she ate first?

I ended up convincing Austin that he should eat the other part of his donut too!

Abigail was having a blast with me taking her picture

After our donuts we ran to a couple stores and to the grocery store. Upon our arrival at home, we found a package from Grandma & Grandpa Richards in the mail. Austin's modeling his new glasses that came with the 3D chalk Grandma & Grandpa sent him.

While we were at Kohl's Austin got a new bathing suit. A set of goggles, ear plugs and a nose plug came along with the suit. Of course he had to try everything out when we got home. He changed right into his suit while I was filling up the pool. He's been asking for a pair of goggles so he could dive for the last couple of weeks.

Abigail even got in the pool. I really didn't want to get in so I put her in with the floaty. She couldn't really float, but at least she could walk around and if she slipped, the floaty would catch her.

They were having a blast!

Then Daddy got home from work. After eating a quick sandwich, he was in the pool!

I blew up almost every single one of our pool toys.

Who can resist photographing a naked baby butt?

Swimming exhausted everyone. Daddy blew up the air mattress so he could lay on it and watch tv and the kids enjoyed a lunchable!

10,000

I created a counter on March 8, 2007 to record the number of visitors to my blog. I'm almost to number 10,000! Next time you check my blog, check to the right to see if you're lucky number 10,000. If you are, leave me a comment and let me know who you are!

16 Months

Has it been another month already? She's 16 months already? Where does the time go?
Remember when she went to the doctor last month? The doctor was little concerned because her weight wasn't exactly where it should be. She was starting to make a downward curve on the growth chart. She wasn't even on the growth chart for her weight at her age.

We went to the doctor this morning for her weight and ear check. I'm proud to announce that she's now on the growth chart! She's only in the 4th percentile, but it's better than not being on the chart at all. The doctor was very impressed that she had put on a whole pound, plus three ounces! She's now tipping the scale at 19 lbs 6 oz. Ms. Sole wasn't surprised that she had gained the weight. She said Abigail is always the first one ready to eat when she starts making any kind of food for the kids during the day. She's the same way at home. Our little piggy!

Her ears also looked great. Looks like our next appointment will be at her 18 month well baby!

We're getting to my favorite age. I love it when our kids are finally able to really start interacting with us. She's learning to point to her eyes, nose and mouth. And, she's really starting to chatter. Some of her favorites are, "Da" (Daddy), "Au" or "Aus" (Austin), "STOP" (I think that's her favorite), "Eyes" and of course "Hey" when she wants to get our attention. There's also an occasional "Asses" in there, but what she's really saying is "Ashes, ashes we all fall down." Sometimes it's hard not to giggle when she sings about asses and turns around in a circle!

(I love this expression!)

Bed head! Her hair is finally getting long enough to do something with. I've really gotten into making bows for her hair. Once I got the hang of it I can't stop. She needs a little more hair in the front, then I'll be really happy. You can't really tell in this picture, but her hair gets curly in the back and when I put a pony tail in her hair. It's so cute! My blond curly hair baby with blue eyes, just what I always wanted!

Slacking

I haven't had much to blog about lately. We laid pretty low this past weekend. I think the highlights of the weekend were going to the grocery store and washing my car. Sounds exciting doesn't it?!?!?

Just in case you needed to see some pictures, here are some of Abigail getting caught being naughty. I keep her diapers in the top of the thing (I'm drawing a blank as to what it's really called) next to the chair. Since she's a climber, she climbed up in the chair and pulled all the diapers into the chair with her.

And I'll give you one guess as to who she's smiling at like that...

Her Daddy!

He had just come home from work. She couldn't get off that chair fast enough to get over and see him. She's going to be such a Daddy's girl!

A rare moment

They actually got along...for a minute.

Abigail wants to be able to drive his tractor, and he wants her to have nothing to do with it.
