A girl and her baby

Abigail has really been into playing with her baby lately. She'll pat the baby and give her kisses. She loves putting the baby in her stroller and then taking her out again. It's so cute to watch.

Inflatable Funland

We ended up taking Austin to Inflatable Funland on Sunday. The trip was not as successful as I thought it would be. I thought Austin would love it (because he's always jumping) and would jump on everything because his friend was. I was wrong. He was afraid of almost everything. After I took my shoes off and climbed in, he was willing to jump in the open top bouncer. He wouldn't even get into the bouncers that were enclosed.

The only thing he would jump in. The guy with the hairy chest bouncer.

Abigail had a blast walking around every where.

Here's a little video of him jumping. I kind of cut his head off because I was trying to tape him and make sure Abigail didn't walk too far away!

Birthday festivities

We had some friends over last night for dinner, cake & ice cream for Austin's birthday. When we got home, Austin had a couple packages waiting for him. One was a new couch from Grandma & Grandpa Ringman. Because it folds out and Austin liked it so much, he slept on it last night.

(Sorry, the camera date was off by a year...)

I lite the candles on his cake and he blew them out before we could sing to him. This was his second attempt at blowing the candles out!

Four

Happy Birthday

Four years ago today I became the luckiest Mom in the world. I can't believe my baby boy is four years old today. My love has grown so much for him since the day he was born.

Last night we made cupcakes so Austin could take them to daycare today. Austin lined the pan with Sponge Bob cupcake papers and then I filled them up. After they were out of the oven and cool enough, I did the frosting while he did the decorating. He did a great job. And the best part... licking the frosting off his fingers and eating the sprinkles that didn't make it onto the cupcakes!

We're having some friends over for dinner, cake & ice cream later. It should be a fun filled evening. Tomorrow we'll be taking Austin and a friend to Inflatable Funland. I'm hoping Austin likes it! More pictures to come tomorrow!!!!

What they do best

Austin hanging out in his underwear!

Taking pictures

Abigail talking on the phone

She must have gotten some shocking news from her conversation!

Only four more days until Austin's 4th birthday! Of course yesterday he informed me he only had to wait 6 more minutes until his birthday. I ordered his cake this afternoon. We'll be eating Sponge Bob cake on Friday!

Rock Star

We're addicted to the game Guitar Hero! Austin likes to "rock out" like the rest of us adults.

We're starting to feel better around here. Apparently whatever Austin had was gone as soon as he woke up. He ran circles around Abigail and I yesterday while we laid pretty low. I must have had a 24-48 hour flu bug and felt better this morning. I took the kids to daycare and headed to work this morning. Half way through the day I came home because I still wasn't feeling 100%. I got some much needed, and uninterrupted, sleep this afternoon and now feel like a new person. Tomorrow my plan is to restore some sense of organization to my house as it now looks like a tornado has passed through.

Sick, sick & sick

We've got a bug.

I got Abigail into the doctor yesterday afternoon. She has a nasty cold and the beginning of an ear infection. We got antibiotics for her ears and were instructed to continue giving a medication she had been prescribed on her last visit for her cough and congestion. She slept most of the night last night.

I had a terrible headache last night. The kind where I couldn't move around much because my head would just pound and make me nauseous. We went to bed early last night and although the headache is gone this morning, I feel rotten.

Even though Abigail slept through most of the night last night, we were up with Austin a couple times. He woke up and threw up all over everything. He got sick about three times but has been sleeping since.

Hopefully this passes quickly, whatever it is.

11 Months

I can't believe my baby girl is going to be a year old in a month. The last month has been a very busy month for Abigail.

She and Austin started back at daycare. Instead of a center I'm taking them to a woman who does daycare out of her home. It took a couple weeks for Abigail to adjust, but is doing great now. Just yesterday when I arrived she wasn't ready to go home. I walked in the door, she smiled at me then kept playing with the toys. The in home daycare has been wonderful for both of my children.

She's started eating table food and is quite good at it. She'll eat almost anything we put in front of her. For breakfast she gets YoBaby yogurt along with cereal or pancakes. For lunch she'll eat her baby food with what ever they are having at daycare as long as she can eat it.

She's only been drinking one bottle during the day at daycare, but next week she's going to start drinking whole milk during her snacks and lunch from a cup. My stash of frozen breast milk has disappeared from the freezer so I thought now would be the best time to get her started on regular milk while she is away from me. Today she drank some milk in her sippy cup at lunch for the first time and really liked it. I'm sure she's not going to have a problem with it. She's still not ready to give up nursing yet so we'll give that up when she's ready. I'm not ready to give it up yet either as this will be the last time I nurse a baby. Ever.

This morning Austin got the Cheerios out and Abigail thought she needed to dump them on the floor to get one!

Eating her yogurt. I gave her the Lil' Dipper but she found she could get more with her fingers.

Playing with her baby. For about 20 minutes this afternoon she kept putting her baby in her stroller and then taking her out.

She's now WALKING all over the place. Those of you who guessed she would be walking at 10 months were correct! She can even turn around and head in another direction.

It went great!

(A goofy picture from this morning)

Everything with Austin's surgery went great. The total procedure took about 20 minutes and he was back to normal after a couple hours. I can barely tell he had surgery this morning by the way he's been bouncing off the walls this evening. Michael said he was already talking the nurse's ear off on the way back from the operating room. Dr. R placed tubes in both ears and said Austin had a lot of fluid built up behind his left ear. There was some fluid behind the right, but not as much as the left. I wonder how long this set of tubes will last?

It's surgery day... again.

Austin and Daddy are already at the hospital for Austin's surgery. They should be placing tubes in both ears again. I'll let everyone know the outcome later. Say some prayers for my baby boy. I'm feeling a little guilty for not being there, but Michael has assured me that he can handle it.

Uneventful weekend

Our weekend was very uneventful. After going out to dinner and playing games with some friends on Friday night we spent the rest of the weekend at home. I finally got my Christmas tree and decorations down yesterday. It was a beautiful day to get everything done. Not to brag or anything, but when we went outside to take the outdoor decorations down I wore flip flops! It was gorgeous. I even opened my windows to let some fresh air in.

Austin is glad Abigail got these Little People toys for Christmas. He's having as much fun as she is with them!

Abigail is really walking all over the place now. I managed to get this picture while she and Austin were playing with the Little People. She's also modeling the necklace Grandma & Grandpa Ringman got her for Christmas. She didn't even notice she had it on!

It's back to work and daycare tomorrow. Austin has a pre-op appointment on Wednesday and then his surgery on Thursday. Poor guy has to have surgery right before his birthday.

Just a couple pictures

I haven't taken many pictures lately. Here are some from a few days ago.
Austin fell asleep with Baby Jaguar the other night while he was watching Diego.

Abigail was climbing in the car seat from Michael's car. She thought it was pretty funny!

Issues with ears

Austin had another episode with his ears this past week. My parents called us last Thursday and said Austin was complaining that his ear hurt. He was telling them that it really hurt and they were having a hard time understanding what he was trying to say. Michael rushed home from work and took him to the ER because we couldn't get him into his regular doctor or his ENT. They waited a couple hours and I joined them after work. When he finally saw the doctor, the doctor stated that his left ear was infected and it looked as if his ear drum was about to rupture. They gave us some antibiotics and sent us home. Austin came home, crashed because he was so exhausted and never complained about his ear hurting again.

Today, Michael took him to his ENT for his regular post-op appointment from his tube removal surgery in October. Dr. R decided that Austin should have tubes placed back in his ear(s). His surgery is going to be next Thursday. As of right now, the plan is to only place a tube in his left ear. Dr. R will determine if he is going to place a tube in the right ear on the day of the surgery. At this point I would like him to place tubes in both ears to save us the hassle of having to return in a month or two for the other ear. I get nervous when he goes under anesthesia and would like to avoid having him go under twice instead of only once.

Abigail also made a visit to the doctor on Monday because she had been tugging at her ears. After a lengthy wait, it was discovered that she did not have an ear infection, only wax that was causing her discomfort. I was instructed to put a couple drops of baby oil in her ears two or three times a week to loosen up the wax.
