February 13, 2009

The Friday after we arrived in Michigan we had the privilege of attending Uncle Ben & Aunt GiGi's 5th anniversary wedding.

As we were flying from Houston to Detroit I was thinking about my dress for that evening. Then it suddenly occurred to me that I FORGOT MY DRESS! Luckily we went to Kohl's and the first outfit I tried on turned out to be perfect.

The Ringman Family. Minus my husband who's been scoring high test scores and is at the top of his class at Ft. Leonard Wood.

Grandpa Ringman and two of his grandkids

Aunt GiGi & Brenden ~ Didn't she look gorgeous!

Cake time

Oh boy, there it goes...

What happened Uncle Ben?

Aww!

Parents of the groom (aka Grandma & Grandpa)

Riley sure loves her Daddy

Mother & Son dance

It's party time!

We tried for a good picture of the three of us

And ended up with this by the end ~ which is kind of my favorite!

Four generations of Ringmans

Four generations + Austin

Look at my sweet boy! He had a blast at the party.

He even knew how to do the chicken dance!

Austin & Aunt GiGi dancing during the dollar dance. What a stud muffin!

Even Abigail danced with Uncle Ben during the dollar dance!

Abigail found herself a partner on the dance floor. Good thing her Daddy wasn't there!

Our little princess

Love that smile (and hair bow) Riley!

I even got to meet Jana for the very first time {in real life}! Sassy aren't we?

Abigail was obsessed with crawling under the tables

Austin dancing the night away with his Great Aunt Tenia & Uncle David

My kids had an absolute blast at the party! I couldn't have asked for two better kids. I'm so glad we were able to be a part of Uncle Ben & Aunt GiGi's special day.

With my fabulous new camera I took a total of 261 pictures that evening. Some of the ones above are my favorites, but if you would like to see all of them you can click here or on the picture album below.

The birthday girl

On Abigail's birthday we celebrated by eating cake & ice cream with Grandma & Grandpa Ringman.

We ate Dora cake

Abigail enjoyed a little frosting before blowing out the candles

Grandpa lit the candles

She wasn't quite sure what to think of the candles and our singing!

But she sure did enjoy her cake & ice cream

Then they both got to open their birthday presents

Abigail loved the Barbie stuff she got!

Thanks for celebrating her bithday with us Grandma & Grandpa!

(More posts & pictures of our trip to Michigan will be appearing over the next few days!)

Happy 2nd Birthday Abigail

Happy Birthday baby girl!

You've grown so much in the past two years, it's absolutely amazing.

When this post hits the internet, you would have been born exactly two years ago. And we've made it Michigan safely and {hopefully} uneventfully.

We love you so much!

{Birthday pictures to follow!}

Our Star Student

Austin brought home a Star Student Award! How awesome is that?

His award was for showing responsibility. We're so proud of him!

Start Smart

For the past four Saturdays, Austin has been participating in a class called Start Smart. The class is offered to 3 & 4 year olds, or Pre-K students in a couple of our cases. It's an introduction to the fundamentals of sports. Each Saturday the kids (and their parent) rotate stations of throwing, catching, batting and kicking.

They start out by stretching first.

Then we make our way around to the different stations.

(Nice high water pants Mom!)

As you can see, Abigail thinks she's a participant also!

As you can see, they have a blast!

Each week, the stations have gotten a little harder. Instead of hitting off a tee, we're now pitching to the kids. The throwing station has turned into a basketball station. The kicking station has goals set up and the kids are learning how to run and kick the ball at the same time. And the catching station now involves using a glove to catch.

They have also incorporated a game of baseball or soccer into each class. This past Saturday Coach Norma got out her big parachute and the kids got to play the popcorn game. They also had to run under the parachute when Coach Norma called their name. Nine times out of ten, all of the kids ran under it no matter who's name she called out.

At the end of each class they all help clean up, get a sticker and whine (and sometimes cry) that they have to leave the class.

Austin is going to miss the last class because we'll be in Michigan, but I think we're going to sign him up for the next session. The next session will concentrate strictly on soccer. He'll also miss the first class of the session, but he's advanced enough in soccer that he really won't miss anything. It will also be nice because Daddy will be home for most of the classes. It's hard chasing Abigail around and trying to participate with Austin. Plus Daddy really enjoys going to the classes and I enjoy that we all get to do something as a family.
