Abigail took her first bath in the big bath tub the other night. She loved the bubbles and bath time went a lot quicker because she and Austin got in the tub together. I didn't get any really good pictures of the kids because they were having too much fun, but here are some that I did get.

Saturday pictures
Abigail is modeling her new stickers from Grandma & Grandpa Ringman. Austin thought she needed to wear them after he opened their package!
Austin was watching cartoons when I tried to take his picture. He wouldn't even smile, but that's typical behavior for him lately. That and the "I'm not listening" syndrome.

Breakthrough
It didn't take long, Abigail's first tooth is through! The first thing I did this morning was stick my finger in her mouth. Sure enough, one of her bottom central incisor's is through. They say teeth usually erupt in pairs so it shouldn't be long before the other central incisor is through. What a big girl she's becoming. She'll be ready for real food in no time. I have a feeling she's going to be an eater!

Working on something new
Our baby girl is working on her two bottom teeth. I can see them, but they haven't started to work their way through her gums yet. My guess is that she'll have two teeth by the beginning of next week! She's also starting to work on using a sippy cup as seen in the picture above. The only thing she'll drink out of the cup so far is water. She's not quite sure about juice, she gets this awful look on her face like you've given her a lemon to suck on. I might try some milk (breast milk) next weekend to see if she can figure it out.

Being silly!
Austin always thinks he needs to try out the things we get out for his sister. When we got the Bumbo, Austin had to take his turn. He also tends to forget that he's too big for the bouncy seat. When we got the high chair out he had to sit in it. When we got the jumperoo out he wanted to sit in it. This weekend it was his turn to play in the exersaucer...
Abigail finally gets her turn!

Their special bond
I've been meaning to capture a moment like this for a while now. Of course by the time I got the camera out Austin was starting to overwhelm Abigail a little, but at least you get to see why they make me smile!

6 month check up
Since our girl is now 6 months old she had to go to the doctor for a check up and another round of immunizations. Only one poke in each leg and an oral immunization this time. Abigail did really well, only crying a little for the initial pokes. After it was all over she smiled at the nurse! Also, after noticing Abigail tug at her left ear this weekend it was discovered that she has her first ear infection. It's only mild and in the left ear, not both! I never would have known other than her tugging at it, she hasn't been cranky at all. Check out how much she's grown in 6 months:
Weight at birth: 7 lbs. 2.9 oz.
Weight at 6 mo: 15 lbs. 11 oz.
Height at birth: 19 1/4 inches
Height at 6 mo: 26 inches
The doctor said she was "tall for her age" but was less than average for weight at her age. She's grown 6 3/4 inches in 6 months! Of course if she doubles her weight in the next 6 months she'll weigh as much as her brother does! She has to go back to the doctor on September 10th so they can check her ears again and then back for another check up at 9 months.
Austin also has to go to the appointment on the 10th because I want his allergies and/or asthma re-evaluated. He also has to go to his ENT on the 11th to have his tubes checked again.

6 months
I can't believe Abigail is 6 months already. I have to admit that I'm a little sad about it. We're starting to slowly get rid of the baby things. Abigail is making the transition from her infant car seat to the bigger car seat today. We're also giving the swing to someone who is having a baby in the next couple of weeks because they don't have one. We haven't used the swing for weeks so we figured we should give it to someone who could use it instead of having it hang out in the living room. Moving the swing also makes room for the jumperoo! I've got to get it cleaned up and in the house so Abigail can start jumping.
In 6 months Abigail has accomplished the following:
- ♥ Smiling
- ♥ Cooing
- ♥ Giggling
- ♥ Rolling over
- ♥ Sitting up - almost unassisted
- ♥ Eating cereal & baby food
- ♥ Sleeping through the night
- ♥ Ajusted to daycare and a bottle
I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them! In another 6 months she'll be a year old and she'll probably be walking and getting into everything!

Baby Brenden
Austin & Abigail's little cousin Brenden was born yesterday, 8/9/07.
Congratulations Uncle Ben, Aunt Gigi and Riley!
We can't wait to see what he looks like, we've heard he looks a lot like Riley did when she was born.

Rolling over
The good news is that Abigail finally rolled from her back to her belly. The bad news is that we missed it. Michael was sitting in the chair playing a video game and I was messing around on the computer. Abigail was in my lap when she started to fuss. I laid her on her back on the floor right next to me with a toy. She was right in between the two of us. The next thing we know, Michael looked down and shouted, "She rolled over...and we missed it!". Then of course she didn't do it for the rest of the evening. Sneaky little bugger!

Playing at the playground
I just got back from taking the kids to the playground. Here's what we did:
Then she traded in her hat and toy for the water bottle.
Neither one of them was ready to go home...but at least I got a smile out of Austin
I can't say the same for Abigail!
I got a video of Austin swinging. It was hard to do the camera and push him at the same time. At least you get to hear his cute little giggle, the demanding little bugger!
