Picture post

Austin was running the camera last night.

After I turned the camera around and took a picture of us, he had to try it too.

Chick-a-wow-wow

Has anyone seen the commercial for the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks yet?

Austin and his friend saw the commercial the other night and were running around singing "Chick-a-wow-wow, chick-a-wow-wow" while shaking their booties. Austin's been doing it ever since.

Wild girl

Abigail was dancing to her own tune yesterday!

I have also updated my blog with all of our videos on it. If you want to view all of our movies in one place, go visit The Ringman Family Videos. Even if you don't watch the movies, go check out my blog design!

Early risers

It's now 4:45 am on a Saturday morning. Austin has been up since 1:45 am watching cartoons. He was up early yesterday and didn't get a nap so he was asleep by 5:00 pm yesterday afternoon. I guess he's gotten enough sleep. Not me. Apparently Abigail has had enough sleep also because she's been up since 4:00 am.

Austin just informed me that he wanted donuts for breakfast. I wasn't ready to get out of bed, let alone out of the house. I've talked him into settling for Cheerios for now.

Abigail was the first to notice the presents under the tree this morning. She's been pretty testy lately with the tree. She keeps trying to take the ornaments off the bottom within her reach.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! How many more years until I get to sleep in again??????

Standing alone

Abigail is standing on her own all the time now. She is constantly pulling herself up on something, or someone. Yesterday she pushed herself to a standing position by using a pillow on the floor. We keep trying to get her to take a step but she'll usually lunge forward at us.

This is just another cute picture of Austin from the other day when I was trying to get the kids picture for our Christmas card.

Back to work

I got a job and will be headed back to work next Thursday. I am very excited about it and wish I would have found it sooner. The position is a part time position, but it sounds like I could be working full time hours. Austin was not very excited about going back to school when I brought it up to him. I'm hoping he changes his mind once he gets back into the routine.

He's also been refusing to nap during the day. He's suppose to be taking a nap at this moment. When I just went in his room to check on him he was in his bed covered up with a blanket doing a puzzle. I don't mind if he stays quiet and plays in his room as long as I get a little break.

When he doesn't take a nap during the day, he falls asleep by six in the evenings, making for a very early morning. The other night he was playing in his room. When I hadn't heard anything for a while I went into his bedroom and found him like this.

Since Abigail has gotten her top teeth she's been eating more solid foods. In the last couple of days she's conquered Cheerios and Ritz crackers. Daddy teases her that she's our little puppy dog. Each time someone gets something to snack on, she's right there at their heals "begging" for a bite. Pretty soon she'll be eating with the rest of us.

Oh, and remember when I said Austin was almost potty trained? I jinxed myself. He slid backwards after I posted about it. I'm hoping that mentioning it again will get him back to where he was at. Anything is worth a shot!

Christmas jammies

Austin's picture is a little blurry. I couldn't get him to stop talking long enough to get a good picture!

My two front teeth

I was finally able to capture a decent picture of Abigail's new teeth. She also has two more teeth on the top giving her a total of 6 teeth.

Oh my!

I attempted to get a good picture of the kids for our Christmas card this morning. I bribed Austin with a sucker, but Abigail just wasn't in the mood. The pictures tell it all...

First up, a picture of just Austin

Then it was time for the two of them. Austin kept looking at the TV

This would have been a good one if Austin's eyes weren't closed

Then I got the bored look

Austin was still smiling, but Abigail wanted nothing to do with sitting still anymore

In the end I got a decent picture. You'll have to wait until you get your card to see it!

Pretty girl

I've decided that having a girl can be fun when it comes time to dress up!

I was trying to figure out how I was going to have the kids sit in front of the tree for my Christmas card picture the other day. Abigail was sitting so well I took the opportunity to get her dressed in her dress and have a little photo shoot with her.

She started by sitting really good
Then she found her shoes under her dress. She loves her shoes!

Then she decided to tell me something!

I then realized I forgot to put her bow on top of her head. She was all done taking pictures by that point, she finally figured out how to get off the box she was sitting on!

Santa 2007

We took the kids to see Santa tonight at the mall. Austin did great. Abigail did good for about 5 pictures then puckered her lower lip and started to cry!

Austin is so into Christmas this year, I love it. He carried on a conversation with Santa the entire time I picked which picture we wanted and paid for it. It was so cute! Their conversation went a little like this:

Santa ~ "So what do you want for Christmas?"

Austin ~ "A tractor."

Santa ~ "What you mean, what kind of tractor do you want? A John Deere tractor?"

Austin ~ "Yeah, a John Deere tractor so I can go out in the yard and mow the grass. I need a tractor with a wheel." (We're not sure what a tractor with a wheel means???)

Santa ~ "OK. Dad, did you hear that?"

Austin kept talking and Santa kept listening. He was so cute! I can't wait until they're both into Christmas like Austin is this year.

Jingle Bell Rock

I couldn't get Austin to do any dancing for me, but Abigail was having a good time!

Who do the kids look like?

My outdoor decor

The weather finally warmed up yesterday (it was in the low 60's) so I was able to get outside and finish up our outdoor decorations. The weather has been in the low 40's and rainy/windy/overcast since Thanksgiving.

Of course Austin had to take the opportunity to mow.

I was so happy about the bow I made for my tree that I made some for the outside of the house too. Here's a close up picture of them.

We didn't put any lights on the house, just on the bushes outside the window. And, the garland also has lights on it. I think it looks great, and Austin loves it!

And yes, the Michigan flag is a must at our house during football season! I'll put our winter flag out after they play their last game. Michael is hoping Michigan goes to the Alamo Bowl so he can go to the game in San Antonio.

Oh Christmas Tree

First, this is post #200 for this year. I can't believe I've talked about my kids that much! Well...I guess I can!

We started to put up our Christmas tree on Friday and finished yesterday. When I first started getting things out I thought we were going to have issues with Abigail. She started playing with the lights when I plugged them in, but was fine once I started putting the tree up and getting the lights on it. So far she hasn't paid the tree much attention. Here are some pictures from our three day project.
Just testing the tree

Both of the kids are fascinated with the lights this year

Austin thought we should document the evening. The next two pictures are courtesy of him...

I guess he wanted to document what his feet looked like too

This picture is a little blurry, but Abigail is putting her ornament on the tree she got from Grandma Great last year

Getting into things, but at least she was happy

Austin was very into putting the ornaments on the tree this year. I think he put 3/4 of the ornaments on the tree.

And, like last year, the ornaments ended up being placed on the bottom 1/4 of the tree and in bunches

My new tree topper. I made it!!!!

The final picture

The ornaments are all where Austin placed them. I think that makes our tree unique. I love it.
